Effective Facilitation Matters More Now Than Ever

Great facilitation can make inclusion policies and efforts live in the context that employees care most about, within their own project or team.   There are a set of core skills and capabilities that create inclusive groups that drive results in face to face or virtual environments.  Through our delivery partners Evan Unger and Bette Smith, we offer a virtual and face to face facilitative leadership workshop for leaders.  It is a required capability for any person charged with leading and facilitating a group that makes decisions, solves problems, and depends on the group for committed, focused execution. The workshop combines the fundamentals of leadership with facilitation tools and delivers them in a live practice format.  Participants, get a baseline, learn, and then have a final lab where they facilitate a group into a creative, aligned execution machine.   I’m writing a blog post about it because these skills have never been more important than in today’s work environment.  The workshop is an essential foundation to anyone charged with the care and feeding of a group that needs to drive change and deliver results.  I know so many participants who say that the workshop changed how they lead.  We need more than policies; we need practical tools that can move us forward in our goals for inclusion and performance.
